Relationships- Sunday's Poem

Wiggle Room

By Carol Cole 5/2/10

Where is the wiggle room

when your partner refuses to talk

when the person you proclaimed your lasting love for

Exits the room when you enter.

Where is the wiggle room

When your heart is aching

and your mind is filled with confusion

yes, you intuitively know the truth

Where is the wiggle room

when what was light

is now so dark

just a distant question mark

Where is the wiggle room

when you know you are vulnerable

but afraid you may not be again

maybe that is the lesson your mate learned previously.

Where is the wiggle room

when your fantasies become blurred

by the reality of the moment

and the clearer memories of the past that tricked your judgment.

Where is the wiggle room

when you need to stretch

your mind and body

to relieve those warm up and cool down cramps

Where is the wiggle room

when you face the need to start again

emptying out your current living space

and making room for the possibility of new possibilities.

Where is the wiggle room

when you are tired and anguished

not sure if you really have the muscle

to lift this weight over your head and let it go.

Where is the wiggle room

to slither about

through those porous caverns

deep beneath your comfort zone.
